Painting and printmaking are essential parts of my life. Both help me to articulate the contact that I have with world, a contact that is simultaneously physical, intellectual and emotional. I am primarily interested in the human body and its relationship to nature. My work attempts to express the conviction that we are an intrinsic part of nature and not mere spectators.

Drawing from the body and nature is at the heart of my creative process and allows me to seize the world, so to speak. Then begins a long period during which the forms I have drawn filter through me to become images for paintings or prints. These images are about seeing, about the importance of memory and I hope they help us to reconcile ourselves with the complexity of the world and eventually contribute to an understanding of who we are.
